Winning appetizers for play-off games!
Whether you are cheering on the PACKERS or your own favorite team, you have to try some of our favorite appetizers made with our very own Trig’s Smokehouse yummies!
BRATS! They go with every occasion! If you do not want to serve as a whole brat on a bun, cut up in bite size pieces after grilling, stick a pretzel in each piece and throw in a crockpot or other warmer to keep warm! (or set pretzels in dish next to them so they don’t get soggy) If you are rooting for our Packer’s, you have to choose our GREEN & GOLD or WORLD’S BEST brats, how cool is that?!?
Trig’s Smokehouse Bacon wrapped Brat Bites! These are a HUGE hit at any gathering! Bacon and a brat, come on…. what is better than that?
- 1 lb. Trig’s Smokehouse Bacon – either maple or peppered, you pick!
- 1 Package Trig’s Smokehouse Brat Bites
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 – 2 Tbs. Chili Powder (optional)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line baking dish with parchment paper, we use a cookie sheet with sides or a large cake pan so the drippings do not drip in the oven. (do not forget to line your dish, the run over of brown sugar really can be hard to get off!) Cut your bacon into thirds. (my family loves bacon so I cut in half and wrap it around more) Once you wrap the bacon around a Brat Bite, stick a toothpick through it to secure bacon. Mix your Brown Sugar and Chili Powder in a low dish, roll around each wrapped Brat Bite and place in baking dish. Sprinkle any remaining sugar mixture over the tops. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the bacon is cooked through and they are bubbly and browned. For my party’s, once cooked… I put them in a crock pot to keep warm or on a flat griddle to keep warm. They usually do not last long though!! Yum! (if you have a lot of party goers, you may want to make a double batch!)
Summer Sausage! There is ALWAYS a meat and cheese tray at parties, why not give them the BEST! Our Trig’s Smokehouse Summer Sausage is awesome! We have a variety of flavors, why not make a platter with a couple flavors? If you have not tried our Tasmanian Summer Sausage, it is a must for your party… jalapeno and pepper jack spices kick our traditional summer sausage up a notch!
Snack Sticks! We have a variety from mildly tangy to habanero hot to please all party goers! Serve whole or cut into thirds, they will not keep their hands off them!
Serving Bloody Mary’s? Boy, we have the right stuff for your Bloody Mary Bar! Snack sticks? Try our BLOODY MARY Snack Sticks or 7-Pepper in your Bloodies! Skewer with your favorite cheese and Trig’s Smokehouse Summer Sausage cut into cubes!
